A small, simple space run by a woman chef. I had the lamb stew and it was homemade heaven in a bowl. All the diners raved about their dinners. A very special experience!

Enjoyed the small intimate space with a really nice comfortable and clean environment. The service was very attentive. Have downgraded food ti 4 stars only on the basis that the pork and class was a bit too salty for my wife. That is a personal taste but overall 5 stars. Well done!!

We have been traveling for 3 weeks from Italy, through France, and now Portugal. Our meal here is certainly within the top 3-5 best we have had during our trip. We are so happy we found this gem.

All 3 dishes (beef, pork tornados, partridge pie) were excellent and very delicious. Service was very friendly and supportive -> very good wine suggestion. It was a great dinner for all of us and we highly recommend the Bistro.

We ate there twice and it was excellent both times. The location was close to our hotel and they open earlier that most restaurants. Be sure to make a reservation so you won't be disappointed!
I had a reservation and wanted to sit in an adjacent table on the upper level with some friends but wasn’t allowed even though the table was empty all evening.
Wat een geweldige ervaring in dit unieke restaurant. De bediening was supervriendelijk, het eten was overheerlijk, de aankleding van het restaurant origineel (bv. met oude fonoplaten als bordonderleggers), de wijn verrukkelijk! Het was een memorabele avond, een ervaring op zich! Dit restaurant lijkt me een verborgen parel in de Alentejo!

Most definitely worth a visit ! Our group of 6 were warmly looked after by Claudio , who chatted to us, shared stories and recommendations on the menu . We have a great selection of food , local homemade and authentic dishes lovingly prepared by Margarita - Claudios mother , who we also got to thank for our lovely meal . Nice quirky place - even get to write on the wall if you fins a space ! We would definitely visit again ! Many thanks for a great evening 😀

A mother (chef) and son have created a treasure in their family home. The food is carefully sourced and beautifully presented in an updated version of local Alentejo cuisine. Plan to spend the evening in this intimate and warm space where the food is served as it is ready. A truly unique dining experience!
We returned to dine here after a great evening a year and a half ago. We were not disappointed! A new generation in the front of the house has changed the experience from lovely and old-fashioned to modern and relaxed. Momma is still turning out superb dishes, really superb! The place is tiny (14 seats) so make a reservation online, very easy. This is one of our most memorable favorites. This time we had clams for a starter, amuse bouche of black pork with fresh figs, medallions of black pork tenderloin for me, slow cooked leg of lamb for husband. Fabulous local red wine. No room for dessert. Wish we lived closer, as this place would be our go to place.

This dinner was our very favorite in three weeks in Portugal. The food was truly delicious accompanied by a great bottle of wine. Local cheeses and traditional dessert pastries accompanied stunning veal medallions and a phenomenal duck pie. The restaurant is very small so book ahead. You will be warmly welcomed. Five stars all around.
