Hello and welcome to The Natural Philosopher! We’re a cosy neighbourhood cocktail bar nestled between Bethnal Green and Hackney, hidden behind The MacSmiths Apple Mac Repair shop. Whether you’re popping in for a quiet drink or celebrating something special, we’re delighted to have you.

As a small, intimate bar, we can accommodate bookings for up to 10 people. For larger gatherings, we offer partial venue hire for groups of 30-44 or full venue hire for groups of 45-60. If you’re interested in hosting an event with us, please contact us via the links on our website, and we’ll be happy to provide more details, including our minimum spend requirements.

Bookings are FREE to make, and we simply ask for card details to help protect against no-shows. Card details are entered in the third step after guest name and contact. Be sure to fill in otherwise the booking will not finalise. Plans change, and we understand—just cancel via your confirmation email at least 3 hours before your booking. For late cancellations or no-shows, a £10 per person charge will apply to support our small, independent business.

We’ll hold your table for 20 minutes, so if you’re running late, please give us a quick call or send us an email, and we’ll do our best to accommodate you. Tables are typically reserved for 2 hours, but if there’s availability, we’ll gladly extend your time with us.
